Oncoplastic Breast Surgery

Oncoplastic breast surgery is a relatively new technique which encompasses wide local excision of a Breast Cancer in addition to specialist ‘Oncoplastic’ surgical techniques to improve the cosmetic result. This can involve modification of surgical scars and excision of excess skin to improve cosmesis. 

Oncoplastic breast surgery can also be applied in the situation where the patient would like to be considered for a breast reduction in addition to wide local excision for their Breast cancer. 

In addition Oncoplastic techniques can be applied post mastectomy(removal of the breast) to provide breast reconstruction.
